Thank you for your participation in compiling the new Future Land Use element of the County Comprehensive Plan.On November 19, 2009, the County Council approved the new element.

The Future Land Use Plan is the vision that will direct how the County will grow over the next 20-30 years. Please find the document here

The Plan includes creating a sustainable development plan for municipalities. The plan will help protect our natural resources such as farmland as well as wetlands and river systems. The plan will also produce a strategy for responsible development, directing intense development to areas close to public services such as water, sewer, emergency services, adequate roads, transit, hospitals and schools.
